Deviant Skincare
I teamed up with the founder and owner of Deviant Skincare, Natalie Smyth, after being a long-time reader of her Instagram account @roadtoglow. Well known in the online skincare community for her educational, honest and research-backed content; Natalie was one of the few people I still trusted for non-biased skinformation.
Natalie and I joined forces to re-brand her former skincare company ‘Alkimi’ to what it is today. We leaned into more of a stripped down and streamlined look for the visual identity, with an overall moody and luxe tone. I was continuously inspired by Natalie and her refreshing philosophy on design throughout the entire process. She wanted everything to remain clean, with no outlandish marketing claims or gimmicks on the packaging. The final product is practical and ultimately unisex–you won’t find any millennial pink here, while the golden-hued wax stamps elevate an otherwise minimal and monochromatic look. It’s also worth noting that Natalie and her husband Connor hand-stamp each of these wax seals! Talk about a labor of love.
